At Enrichment Technology we believe that nuclear power has a major role to play in satisfying global energy demand without imposing the significant environmental impact that current over-reliance on fossil fuels creates. Nuclear power is considered by many as the most compelling option to deliver a sustainable global energy supply.
An efficient technology
Our centrifuge technology runs on just 2% of the electricity consumption needed to run its predecessor technology, gas diffusion, and our continuing research and development is constantly delivering efficiencies which can minimise the environmental impact of our activities.
Responsibility through innovation
ETC is firmly committed to delivering efficiency through development. For example, since 2004 technology innovations have helped Enrichment Technology reduces water usage by 32.4%. This efficiency was delivered by two Enrichment Technology employees seeking to reduce the amount of drain water our operations needed. The solution involved a machine which used evaporation techniques to separate clean water from dirty residue.
Planning for every possibility
Although the likelihood of an emergency arising from our operations is very remote, Enrichment Technology is committed to ensuring that emergency planning is both rigorous and appropriate at every site at which we operate. This planning is designed to deal with any consequence that might arise, whether on site or off. Regular emergency drills and training are performed throughout the year.
